We are thrilled that you are interested in suiting up to join the Wild Hearts team! Last year we had over 730 participants that said YES in uniting together to support children and families affected by Congenital Heart Disease (CHD). 

With no cure, CHD is the #1 birth defect in America affecting thousands of babies born daily.

Through your support in fundraising for our cause, we were able to raise over $30,000 just for Kentucky heart families! We want to raise even more this year! 

With each registration, YOU:

  • are giving hope to families whose children struggle with this life-altering disease

  • are providing some normalcy to heart children and families who can't always do "normal" things

  • are being a hero to real superheroes; our CHD survivors and angels

WHAT IS A WILD HEART?

A Wild Heart is a loving nickname for a person born with a congenital heart defect (CHD). 

This event benefits Kerrington's Heart, a Kentucky 501(c)3 who's mission is to raise awareness of congenital heart defects, the #1 Birth Defect in America, and to create a support network for Kentucky families and caregivers of children with heart disease.

WHAT WE DO

  • Provide comfort packages to assist with the numerous challenges that accompany a lengthy hospital stay.

  • Provides necessary educational support to guide families through each stage of their CHD journey.

  • Provide numerous events throughout the year to bring Kentucky families together, creating a support system of lifelong friends while also giving CHD kids the ability to have “normal” childhood experiences such as Cookies with Santa and our Cardiac Family Weekend Retreat.

  • Sponsor the Beads of Courage Program at the Kentucky Children’s Hospital and Congenital Heart Clinic

  • Provide financial assistance to qualifying families in need of help with meals, transportation and lodging.
