Dear Friends of Kerrington's Heart,
Happy New Year!! With a thankful heart, we send out our 2018 Annual Letter. It was another incredible year for our organization. It is our mission and passion to educate, support, and encourage children with heart disease, their parents and caregivers. Our main goal in 2018 was consistency but we are proud to share some of our achievements with you:
We delivered 4 cars to assist patients, both in the Pediatric Cardiology Clinic and the CICU at the Kentucky Children’s Hospital.
CHD Connect Events
We continue to provide private events throughout the year for Kentucky CHD families such as Cookies with Santa and our Weekend Family Camp! These events give CHD children the ability to have “normal” childhood experience in a safe environment.
Wild Hearts Fun Run
Our 2018 Wild Hearts Fun Run once again brought in over 600 participants, raising over $20,000 for Kerrington’s Heart! We would like to again thank all of our event sponsors such as our Title Sponsor, UK Healthcare in Partnership with Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. We are excited to announce the addition of a 10K to our race next year!
We were able to provide encouragement and love to parents throughout the year with small gifts given in the local Cardiology clinics.
Christmas Giving Program
Through our Christmas Giving Program, 15 Kentucky children had a brighter Christmas!
Blue Heart Benefit
We hosted our 2nd annual Blue Heart Benefit, with the support of Radwan Brown & Co, R.L. Brown Wealth Management, and many others, we were able to raise over 12,000 to benefit Kentucky CHD families.
Looking forward into 2019, we will launch our Kerrington’s Kloset, a magical toy Kloset, located in the Pediatric Cardiology Clinic. This Kloset will help put a smile on the faces of children that experience a long hard pre-op day as well as difficult testing at their Cardiology appointments. We also plan to strengthen our support to families that have lost a child to CHD by expanding our Kerrington’s Heart & Halos to include a bereavement support team with meetings and events. It is through your support that we will be able to make this possible.
