CLAY COUNTY GIVES BACK!

During the month of February, Clay County Fitness Center Zumba raised $200.00 for Kerrington’s Heart through numerous Zumba events within the community. All of this was in honor of Connor Hoskins, an 8 year old boy who was diagnosed with congenital heart defects (CHD) at birth.

Connor Hoskins was born April 19, 2011. He was diagnosed at birth with ASD, VSD, DORV, TGA, Dextrocardia, Pulmonary Stenosis and Single Coronary Artery.  He had a PA Banding at 14 days old and a Rastelli procedure at 14 months  old. Connor and his family found out in January 2020 that his conduits are at 50+ % and needs to be replaced. He will have a repeated echocardiogram (ECHO) in July and Connors medical team will plan surgery pending the results of his ECHO. Connor is a 2nd grader at Burning Springs Elementary School. He loves spending his time with his sister Jacee and his cousins. He loves going to church, camping, hunting, fishing, hiking, playing his Xbox with his cousin Maddix and riding his dirt bike.

CELEBRATING A NEW PROGRAM EXPERIENCE FOR PEDIATRIC HEART PATIENTS AT THE CONGENITAL HEART CLINIC

We are excited for the beginning of Kerrington’s Kloset, an experience that not only acknowledges but rewards pediatric heart patients for their courage and strength. Kerrington's Kloset was created to provide a magical experience where the heart warriors follow a path in the Pediatric Cardiology Clinic to a "Kloset" where they can choose a toy for their bravery.

Shout out to Kerrington for allowing her heart story to shape this organization to help so many others like her! Kerrington’s Heart for 10 years continues to provide hope, help, and healing to children and families affected by congenital heart defects! Support can look a number of different ways based on the needs. Our goal is to meet families where we are needed in their journey with CHD and remind them constantly that they are never alone!

This program is the product of countless hours of hard work and a lot of love from the board members. We would like to thank all the volunteers, UK Kentucky Children’s Hospital Congenital Heart Clinic, the amazing donors and contributors that helped make this happen. This is such a wonderful way to make difficult clinic days extra special for these amazing heart heroes!
